Case study: Lincoln Square

Lincoln Square Development – Central London

By Developer Lodha

We were selected to work on the show flats for the Lincoln Square projects, which included a number of Silent Gliss 6465, 6243 and 5600 tracks, a mixture of manual and electrically-operated products and fabrics for these were selected and procured by top London UK designer 1508.

Meeting the requirements

Our in-house handmade luxury workroom made all curtains using a wave heading for both sheer and drape layers. Curtains were provided to all windows on a two-layer basis, for day time and night time usage.

During the development, Lodha‘s collaboration with us provided purchases with peace of mind on recently acquired properties. As we had involvement from the beginning, we were able to ensure that the products were specified correctly. One specific point was that the reverse of each curtain, visible from the external of the building was white – ivory, meaning, we had to select a sheer fabric, which was white, and use appropriate lining on the back of the drapes. The majority of the sheers used in this development were Colorama 1 – colour 400, white, by Silent Gliss and, unless the customer specified a specific drape fabric, we were requested to source a single-skin blackout fabric with a white back in Silent Gliss range. This was difficult to procure, so, working in partnership with Silent Gliss, we sourced a fabric called Zanzibar, from a fabric company in the UK named Edmund Bell, and tested this in conjunction with Silent Gliss to ensure it was suitable for a wave heading. This fabric has proved an enormous success on this development and all curtains were made by Silent Gliss on our behalf, providing purchases with an all-round 5-year guarantee.

Some purchases have elected for roller blinds and we have used the Silent Gliss systems 4955 battery, 4910 manual, 4910 chain and 4960 electric.
